Document management & technology company

Office move. Shut down Friday. Back online Sunday night.

The problem

Moving an office over a weekend sounds simple on paper. In practice, it means taking down an entire business’s IT infrastructure on a Friday evening and having every employee ready to work from a completely different location on Monday morning. No buffer. No grace period. If it was not done, people could not work.

For a document management and technology company with on-premises servers, workstations, printers, and a full network stack, this was a significant undertaking with a very unforgiving deadline.

What we did

We planned the cutover in advance so that when Friday arrived, there was no guessing. We broke down the old environment, transported and racked the equipment at the new location, stood up the network, reconnected servers and workstations, and tested everything before anyone was expected to walk through the door Monday morning.

By Sunday night, it was done.

The outcome

The business opened Monday at its new location with everything working. No lost data, no missing configurations, no employees sitting idle waiting for IT to catch up. The move that could have cost them days of productivity cost them a weekend instead.

Why it matters

An office move is a project with one hard deadline. We plan for it so the business does not feel it.
